BOCKMANN VACATION

Ohhh what fun we had on our 7 day vacation driving through to Colorado was an adventure. 

After the fun day I had at the shop with the birthday party I came home and packed and we were off to Las Vegas, NV. The first night we stayed in a massive 2,200 hotel room at the JW Marriot resort. I have to say it was an amazing room. We walked around the hotels and stuffed our faces at the buffets. I love looking at the hotels I get so much inspiration from there unique ideas and decorating

 After 2 days in Las Vegas we traveled to Glen Wood Springs, Co. and stayed there 2 days. It was a quaint little town and beautiful!!! But of course we had to take a stop at Crocker Barrel...our family favorite. I just have to confess we ate there 3 times on our visit lol yiPpes!!! Then we took the tram up to the mountain to check out the fairy caverns...it was so cool. 

 The girls were getting anxious to go Colorado Springs, Co to see there grandpa. We packed our belongings and started to driving to grandpas. The princess room grandpa and betty prepared for them was so cute it was thrashed in maybe 2 min lol. We heard allot about focus on the family Adventures of Odessy place to go to, so we went and the kids had a blast.

Our cousin Emily Brumley took our family pictures and they came our so wonderful.

We stayed with grandpa for 4 days then left and drove to Tempe, NV and stayed at a luxurious resort. The girls enjoyed the pools with a water slide. Everything was going great until London stepped on a cactus it was all down hill from there lol. We were ready to go home and get in our own beds. We enjoyed our vacation and had wonderful family time together..My hubby is the best!

Garage Sewing!!!

Garage Sewing!!!

Well my neighbor and I Lisa decided to get together and sew in my garage...(please don't judge my messy garage) I busted out the long tables and sassy table clothes, lined up the machines and we were ready to go. I helped lisa figure out her machine and she did very well practicing her straight lines.  We had a blast it was awesome getting together and learning new things. Maybe we will make it into a new fad! "Garage sewing" hehe sounds like fun to me.

La' MoNique turned 5!!!

Wow have these last 5 blissful years just simply flown by. Every adventure every mistake I have made having a business has taught me so much. The customers and friendships I have made along the way made me really sit back and think of how blessed I am. I love to serve people in anyway that I can and this business has really allowed me to do that and make money heheh. 

Inspired by my first born Brittyn Monique, by making little headbands and burp rags furball socks lol. Then venturing out into the world of sewing (oh Boy). I remember my first dress I made I was such a proud momma. I decided to list it on ebay and by my blindness for thinking of what an awesome job I did. I sold it for $24 (so excited) Then a couple days later I got a mean email of how terrible the dress was ha! Totally caused me to curl up in a corner in fetal position and cry. But after a box of girl scout cookies I got my ump back and kept at it. So here I am now 5 years later and just blessed as can be and still headed forward. Yes life gets busy and I am not able to keep up as much as I should, but I do what I can and with everything that I have.

Soooo I  decided to put together a little celebration for turning 5yrs old. I really wanted to celebrate with your little ones so here are the BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION DETAILS:

The Story of the VINTAGE LAMP...

Well I finally fixed this lamp..passing it in the garage started to get to me. I purchased it for $15 at an estate sale one morning. I called my mom at her work and said "MOM do you have money?? there is an estate sale up the street and wendy said there is awesome vintage stuff. So she asked her boss if she could take a 20 min break and we were off. As we walked in..GASP!! Mom look at this huge lamp!!..you could so use this, and it is only $15!!!.."Oh ok I guess" she said. Knowing in the back of my mind she would buy it and end up not wanting it. (it is a family curse of ours)..anyway so they had some super cute stuff and I reolized I was super late to open the shop..so I left my mom there and called my dad to pick her up hahah. And of course she called me 2 hrs later.."You know I think that lamp is too big..you can have it" BINGO..so that is how I got this super cool HUGE lamp.

 Here is the lamp before I added the lace to the shade. The base was a gold color, so I found some pink spray paint and sprayed it. Super cute!!

 Then I couldn't decide what color to put on the shade..humm

 Soo I went with the shabby pink..

 Glued on the first lace strip..walah!!

 Ok so I finished the layers and then I needed some pretty trim. I added white little loopy loops.

 I was a little short on the top so I added some white small lace to fill in the game. The glued the trim down so they wouldn't pop up.

Wahhllaaaa there is my new HUGE lamp for my shop. It is much prettier in person. I only had my camera phone. lol
