La' MoNique turned 5!!!

Wow have these last 5 blissful years just simply flown by. Every adventure every mistake I have made having a business has taught me so much. The customers and friendships I have made along the way made me really sit back and think of how blessed I am. I love to serve people in anyway that I can and this business has really allowed me to do that and make money heheh. 

Inspired by my first born Brittyn Monique, by making little headbands and burp rags furball socks lol. Then venturing out into the world of sewing (oh Boy). I remember my first dress I made I was such a proud momma. I decided to list it on ebay and by my blindness for thinking of what an awesome job I did. I sold it for $24 (so excited) Then a couple days later I got a mean email of how terrible the dress was ha! Totally caused me to curl up in a corner in fetal position and cry. But after a box of girl scout cookies I got my ump back and kept at it. So here I am now 5 years later and just blessed as can be and still headed forward. Yes life gets busy and I am not able to keep up as much as I should, but I do what I can and with everything that I have.

Soooo I  decided to put together a little celebration for turning 5yrs old. I really wanted to celebrate with your little ones so here are the BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION DETAILS:

Yeaaa!!! I am soo excited to have made over 3,000 fans/friends!!! I feel so giddy inside...it is either from the accomplishment or the yummy redbull I am drinking lol. The Story of the VINTAGE LAMP...

Well I finally fixed this lamp..passing it in the garage started to get to me. I purchased it for $15 at an estate sale one morning. I called my mom at her work and said "MOM do you have money?? there is an estate sale up the street and wendy said there is awesome vintage stuff. So she asked her boss if she could take a 20 min break and we were off. As we walked in..GASP!! Mom look at this huge lamp!!..you could so use this, and it is only $15!!!.."Oh ok I guess" she said. Knowing in the back of my mind she would buy it and end up not wanting it. (it is a family curse of ours)..anyway so they had some super cute stuff and I reolized I was super late to open the shop..so I left my mom there and called my dad to pick her up hahah. And of course she called me 2 hrs later.."You know I think that lamp is too big..you can have it" BINGO..so that is how I got this super cool HUGE lamp.

 Here is the lamp before I added the lace to the shade. The base was a gold color, so I found some pink spray paint and sprayed it. Super cute!!

 Then I couldn't decide what color to put on the shade..humm

 Soo I went with the shabby pink..

 Glued on the first lace strip..walah!!

 Ok so I finished the layers and then I needed some pretty trim. I added white little loopy loops.

 I was a little short on the top so I added some white small lace to fill in the game. The glued the trim down so they wouldn't pop up.

Wahhllaaaa there is my new HUGE lamp for my shop. It is much prettier in person. I only had my camera phone. lol

Fabulous Los Angeles...

Wahoo I get excited every time I think of going to LA to frolic in the fabrics. Although I get in serious  deep depression when I think of how much the fabric when up in pricing....YIKES!! No more big bulks...booo!!!

Anyway as we were waiting at a light a wonderful lady decided to make us so happy...as she walked by. It is not much of a good picture (wish I had the front view..but my big Ipad out the window looked a little funny) But this why I love California....A lady wearing her bathing suit over her clothes..to funny!

Anyway here we traveled to the big fabric stores in LA...Yes!! We stopped into a great scrap place that has good finds (if you want to dig). Tanya caught me in action, although I didn't find too much today. 

But it was fun anyway

Collecting all the "Miss Independent Collection" fabrics. I will be sending out a mass email to all of you that requested order info and sample fabrics. Don't forget to get your little ones 4th of july outfit. When I send out the email (WARNING!!) Please email asap if you are sure of making an order, just because I run out so fast! :O(

I am seriously BAD at this!!!

Weeellll!! So much has happened since my last blog...geez I really wish I was better at updating my blog. I really don't feel like writing what all I have been doing for a year, so I am going to jump right into the here and now if you don't mind lol!

I have moved into a New BIGGER and PRETTIER...and might I add shabbier shop. I relocated to Yucaipa, ca right on the Blvd (yeah). Besides the construction in front of my door to improve the blvd to make a round about..I LOVE IT! Yes we had a Grand Opening along with my friend whom I am sharing the building with Mrs. Wendy Ternes Photography her self. She has an awesome studio set up to accommodate all photo needs Newborns to you name it, she can do it!

I am still in a not so flexible schedule to have the shop open more hours...but there it is kids, house work, church and so much more, it can get a little over whelming. I am able to be open only Friday & Saturday from10:00-1:00pm which I think is good, those are the busiest days anyway.

I have a 2012 plan in mind (yes I am thinking way ahead) but OHhhh so super excited about it. I have to figure out more info and details before I spill my excitement bugs every where. But believe you me you will love it.

My excitement for doing what I do grows as I write this.  I wanted to share my work and compassion to others to inspire ladies to CREATE! God has truly given me a special gift of creativity and I want to use it to the best of my abilities. People ask me how I have time for all of this...when you are truly passionate about something thats all you think about and want to do. Admitting that sometimes I lay in bed thinking about fabric and ribbons....weird I know but there it is lol.

A Big thank you for all the ladies that come into the shop and give me such kind words...I try not to get a big head..but these ladies pump my head so big I LOVE IT!!! Telling me that I am so inspiring to them...wow so honored and it surely keeps me going.

I am going to post a few pictures of my new little shabby boutique and few random pics. Thanks again for stopping by, I will promise to update this more and even post my personal blogging here.

Started Market Night again!!

Sorry for the lack of updates I am terrible at updating my blog lol. Well yesterday was our first day starting back at market night in Downtown Redlands,ca this year. We had allot of fun and looking forward to the rest of the year. Our booth was way at the end, but thats what we get for not being in the loop for a while. Next time I hope we are closer to my shop so I wont have to walk and carry 100 million things down the street lol. We also had NOAH JAE CREATIONS there at market Night. I have been super busy trying to keep up making creations. Thankfully I have help by my friend sewing for me, it's just me cutting out fabrics to give to her. Props to Jennifer Pringle!!
I now have La' MoNique Creations at KISSUI AND also at Rubie Tuesdays in Downtown Redlands,ca. Super excited for La' MoNique I give God all the Glory! Here are a few pictures of Redlands Market Night yesterday
